Is it time to decorate the nursery? Crib bedding is an essential part and one of the focal points of every nursery and whether you are expecting or shopping for gifts for the expecting mother and baby solid color crib bedding is a necessity and makes a great gift.
Usually the baby bedding matches the theme or decor of the room. Let's say you are doing a nursery with a fairy tale theme, usually there is a crib set to match this theme. For example, the theme "Little Mermaid" the crib sheets will have little mermaid and there will be a matching bumper pad and comforter/quilt with "little mermaid" designs on it. Although these crib sets are adorable and match the theme of the room they can be quite expensive, especially considering that more than one set will be needed. With all this in mind it may be wise to consider using theme decals for the walls and curtains of the room and sticking to basic solid colors for the bedding. After deciding on the decor or theme of the nursery, pick a color that will coordinate well with the theme and purchase the crib bedding to accent the theme.
Whites and beiges are nice and readily available, but bright colors are more fun and exciting. Reds, green, blues and yellows will suit either gender and creates a great atmosphere in the nursery. If your taste is something more reserved crib bedding is available in the more traditional style of nursery bedding, pastel colors.
Solid color crib bedding has many advantages, first they are often less expensive, a big consideration when you take into account that you will need at least three sets. Additionally, solid colors can be mixed and matched easily. Nothing wrong with a blue sheet and a red comforter, and this can be essential for those middle of the night sheet changes. One more advantage of solid colors is that they tend to grow with the child. With nursery furniture that is designed to begin as a crib but move to a toddler bed and then sometime on to a daybed, sheets and comforters that grow with the child can be quite useful.
